PLEASE NOTE that in order to hold your spot for a class, workshop or club, payment must be made in full when you sign up. Cancellations will be refunded up to one week only before your class date. If the class is cancelled by the store you will receive a full refund. Please make sure that you bring all necessary supplies and arrive 10 minutes before the start of class.

For your convenience - If you are unable to come to the store or would like to register early with us, we can secure your spot with your credit card information. Please call the store or email us - whichever is easiest for you.

• Quilters UFO Days at Quilters Dream Now 2 days/month!
  Thursday, January 5 & Friday, January 20 - 10:00am to 4:00pm

  Want a place where you can go and QUILT uninterrupted, socialize, and enjoy a nice cup of tea? Well, we have just the place for you! For just $10.00 you can attend one of our Un Finished Objects Days. A hostess will be on hand to answer any questions you might have. Fee: $10.00 per event

• Sewing UFO Days at Quilters Dream NEW FOR 2012!
  Saturday, January 14 - 10:00am to 4:00pm

  Have you attended any of Linda’s garment sewing classes??? Even if you haven’t and you are a garment sewer, join Linda in the classroom to finish up those UFO’s. Need some advice? Linda will be on hand to answer those “what do I do now” questions. We’ll have the tea on, bring your project, relax and enjoy. Fee: $10.00 per event

• Saturday Night Pizza Party Everyone Welcome!
  Saturday, January 28 - 4:00pm to 10:00pm

  Plan on attending one or more of our now famous “Pizza parties"! Come for the fun, stay for the food and enjoy an entire evening of sewing and socializing.  Great time to catch up on those UFO’s! Sign up early - Spaces are limited!  Special added feature starting in January ***Door Prizes*** Fee: $25.00  per event (Includes pizza and munchies).

A Series of Workshops

• Piping Quilt  This Month!
  Wednesdays, January 4 and 11 7:00pm to 9:00pm

  This workshop will involve the construction of a group of at least 4 blocks. Larger pieces will require assembly of several 4 block units. These blocks can be assembled as a single wall hanging, become the top of a decorative pillow or placed in shadow box frames. A zipper foot would be very helpful in this class. Spaces are Limited - Sign up Early! Fee: $85.00 plus supplies

• Curves  This Month!
  Wednesdays, January 18 and 25 7:00pm to 9:00pm

  This project involves design and construction of a quilt in which all blocks were composed of curved pieces.  Quilt size will be approximately 4 ft square.  No templates or pins involved. A larger cutting mat and a very sharp cutting tool are helpful. Spaces are Limited - Sign up Early! Fee: $85.00 plus supplies

• Mondrian
  Wednesdays, February 1 and 15 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

  This project involves the construction of a wall hanging quilt with a textured background and designed after the paintings of Piet Mondrian.  Construction will involve piecing, raw edge and traditional appliqué as well as various embellishment techniques. Spaces are Limited - Sign up Early! Fee: $85.00 plus supplies

• Mosaic
  Wednesdays, March 14 and 28 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

• Beginner Landscape Thread Painting with Dianne Bergman
  Monday, January 16 - 10:00am to 4:00pm

  This class gives you the opportunity to create fabulous miniature landscapes using a variety of techniques including appliqué. Learn the basics of painting with thread and techniques for embellishment to enhance light, shadow and perspective. Learn the concepts of light and colour when selecting fabric and threads for free motion thread painting. We will all do the same pattern with a choice of seasonal theme and our own choice of fabrics and threads and techniques.  Everyone goes home with a unique and wonderful painting. Please see the sample landscapes in the store and the supplies list. Fee: $45.00 plus kit and supplies

• Spool Quilt with Louise Girard
  Saturdays, January 21 and February 4 - 10:00am to 4:00pm

  Patchwork, appliqué and machine embroidery, using a variety of decorative stitches, all go into the making of this beautiful large wallhanging or bed sized quilt. This quilt looks stunning in batiks but can easily utilize all those fat quarters you have been collecting. Fee: $65.00 plus supplies

• William Morris Wall Runner with Louise Girard

  Calling all William Morris pattern lovers!  Why not join Louise in making this stunning quilted Runner using fusible web appliqué and decorative buttonhole stitches. This little quilt is fun and easy to do, yet looks great on any wall.  Ideal for that little space of wall that just needs something! Twelve inch blocks are set on point, bordered and machine quilted. Fee: $45.00 plus supplies

  Want to learn paper piecing but can't quite get your mind around the New York Beauty class? Then come into the store, beat the January blues and learn the secrets to paper piecing all in the same wonderful day. Colour coordinate these lovely place mats to your decor or the decor of someone you care about. Try something new and come prepared to have fun. We'll provide the tea and cookies! • Stitch Library with Veronica Richmond
  Mondays Jan 30, Feb 6, 13, 20 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

  An effective crazy quilt doesn't require knowing every stitch ever created, but requires combining even just a few stitches using different colours, sizes and threads. Building beautiful stitch combinations you can refer to again and again is easy if you make a record of your stitches as you test them in a Stitch Library. Learn an easy and creative way to record your stitching experiments so you can use them again and again, adapting each time you do. Fee: $65.00 plus supplies

• Learn to Quilt with Louise Girard
  Session 1: Tuesdays, Jan 17, 24, 31 and Feb 7, 14 and 21 - *NEW* Mornings: 10:00 am - Noon or 1:00pm to 3:00pm or 7:00pm to 9:00pm

  Learn the basics of quilt piecing, including accurate cutting and sewing skills, block construction, appliqué borders and assembly. This beautiful block sampler quilt teaches you how to construct both traditional pieced and appliqué blocks. Learn rotary cutting methods, the appliqué stitch, how to square up your quilt and prepare it for quilting. Fee: $65.00 plus supplies and pattern

• Borders, Backs and Bindings with Louise Girard
  Thursday, January 19 - 10:00am to 12 noon

This class is a MUST! Learn the proper techniques for “squaring up” your quilt top, different border options, binding application, and backing requirements. We’ll discuss fabric amount calculations, finishing techniques including putting on a sleeve, and labelling your quilt. Fee: $20.00 plus supplies

 

• Labels with Louise Girard
  Thursday, January 19 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm

  Labels are the perfect way to personalize your quilt and make it truly special. In this class Louise will show you how to make one of a kind labels for the back (or front) of your finished quilts. We’ll discuss the DO’s and DONT’s as well as the proper notions and techniques. Fee: $20.00 plus supplies
